a little bit of a resurrection

the pavement was lit up, glittering in the glow of street light with every step. air crisp & cold & dry. & the tree limbs hung low, sad, bending down. with shaking leaves, trembling leaves the color of the sunset. a step off curb, an impact body, ground, spinal bones pressure, step. powder grey dusk, the edge of night. silver clouds, weak, thin, lucid clouds drifted past the moon. the grass, the grass of autumn & barren ground. rocks in places rocks should not have been. a breath & cold air. a breath, the scent of fire. wood burning, a warm place. the grey sky shifting, slowly fading. black & the wind swept away the lucid clouds. the sky shifted, slowly, black. & drops of light hung in a pale, yellow mist of nimbus around the street light. movement over pavement, far below stars, movement beneath space. cold & chilled, the leaves shivered, branches shook when the wind blew.
